There are strict rules on how pension providers and other financial services companies can describe themselves or their products to customers and potential customers. This is to ensure that companies’ communications are clear, fair and not misleading.
With companies increasingly using social media to communicate and publicise themselves, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is updating its rules. The FCA opened a consultation on social media and customer communications in August which closed on 6th November.
As a pension provider regulated by the FCA, we support this revision of the rules and the FCA’s approach to social media.
