The People’s Pension is pleased to welcome Kevin Hart to the newly created role of Head of Payroll and Third Party Integration.
Kevin joins the Crawley based not-for-profit after more than 13 years at Sage, where he was Head of Business Development. This included, most recently, heading up engagement with the pension industry.
Kevin brings experience and engagement with the payroll industry and wider enterprise software companies through his chairmanship of BASDA – the business software trade association which he has chaired for over eight years.
He joins the largest private sector auto-enrolment provider at a crucial stage in the auto-enrolment cycle and especially for payroll, as they focus on supporting small employers through their staging date and beyond. In further recognition of this, The People’s Pension is a proud sponsor of the launch of National Payroll Week this year.

More about Kevin Hart
Kevin led many industry initiatives at Sage including the redevelopment of RTI infrastructure and pilot participation, significantly influencing HMRC to deliver an API-first strategy for business software providers, and developing software support for employers to mitigate risks (fines, custodial sentences) associated with new Home Office employment laws regarding Foreign Nationals. He also influenced TPR and DWP regarding the rollout of AE to small & medium employers, and delivered on a partnership and proposition with Pension PlayPen.
Kevin works at senior management and director level in many public and private sector engagements. He is Chairman of trade body BASDA – the voice of the Business Software Industry. Kevin has led this organisation for over 8 years and achieved many positive outcomes for the industry, the market and government alike – including his recent appointment as Digital Advisor to HMRC in shaping the strategy and subsequent delivery of their crucial ‘Making Tax Digital’ strategy. This has resulted in a number of high profile engagements with government – influencing and advising on a number of key strategies along with driving key initiatives to achieve better outcomes for all.
Kevin was also accountable for key government relationships, including those with DWP, The Pensions Regulator, HMRC, The Treasury, and the Home Office, and led on engagement with some key financial service providers to extend Sage’s reach and relevance to small and medium businesses.
