Accessibility

Our aim is to provide a website that is accessible and user friendly for all.

General structure

This website uses standardised names to label certain aspects of a webpage the same way other websites do.

For example, tables are only used to organise data which appears best in a table format. Whereas headings use heading tags, which helps users to understand what a webpage says when they use a computer screen reader program known as ‘Job Access With Speech’ (JAWS). They may use shortcuts such as ALT+ INSERT+ 2 to find the next level 2 heading.

We also explain acronyms and abbreviations on our webpages.

Fonts

Text throughout this website can be enlarged or reduced to suit your preference.

For example:

  • Google Chrome users can select ‘Customize’ and ‘Control’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Appearance’ > ‘Page Zoom’ or ‘Font size’.
  • Microsoft Edge users can select ‘Settings’ and ‘More’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Appearance’ > ‘Page Zoom’ or ‘Font size’.
  • Firefox users can select ‘View’ > ‘Text Size’ > ‘Increase’ or ‘Decrease’.
  • Safari users can select ‘View’ > ‘Make Text Bigger’ or ‘Make Text Smaller’.

Style sheets

Our website uses cascading style sheets for presentation. If your browser or internet device doesn’t support style sheets, the use of semantic mark-up ensures that the content of each page is still readable and clearly structured.

You may also use your own styles to view this website.

For example:

  • Google Chrome users can select ‘Customize’ and ‘Control’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Appearance’ or ‘Accessibility’.
  • Microsoft Edge users can select ‘Settings’ and ‘More’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Appearance’ or ‘Accessibility’.
  • Firefox users can select ‘Tools’ > ‘Options…’ > ‘Content’ > ‘Fonts & Colours’.

Our print style sheet ensures all meaningful content will print clearly from each page and we’ll remove functional controls, such as menus.

Browser compatibility

We’re regularly reviewing and updating our security protocols. To find out more, read our privacy policy.

The website is currently compatible with the latest version of:

  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Google Chrome

We’ve built this website using progressive enhancement, so our content should be available to all browsers. However, you may experience issues with older versions of these browsers or other web browsers.
