The Trust works with like-minded organisations to support individuals and to raise awareness of a range of issues in the construction industry.
We signpost to other organisations that may meet the needs of a specific claimant. These organisations can also refer cases back to us – it’s a two-way partnership.
We are also keen to develop strategic partnerships with organisations to administer grants for individuals on our behalf.
Crawley Open House provides support and services for those suffering the effects of homelessness, unemployment, loneliness or other forms of social exclusion. In 2021, The Charitable Trust provided Crawley Open House with a corporate grant to support training, retraining and education for individuals within the construction industry.
Mates in Mind is a leading UK charity, raising awareness and addressing the stigma of poor mental health. The B&CE Charitable Trust has worked closely with the charity since it’s launch in 2017, by providing a corporate grant. Since then, Mates in Mind has also been awarded the Mowlem and Occupational Health Research Award.
The support we have received from B&CE’s Charitable Trust has been very important as we would not have been able to do the research without it. The Trust is not just a grant giving body that we report back to at the end of the research. There is a level of interest that has gone with the investment and there is a relationship there that has been built up over a number of years.
Sarah Casemore, Managing Director, Mates in Mind
Construction Youth Trust is a charity whose aim is to inspire and enable young people to overcome barriers and discover a career in the construction industry. We’ve been supporting the charity for 20 years and have provided corporate grants nearly every year since our relationship began.
“Our relationship with the Trust is fantastic as it’s not just funding that they provide – it’s a funder plus. We have a real relationship with them, and they put us in touch with their contacts. If we did not have the support from the Charitable Trust, it would be difficult for us to do what we have done.”
Carol Lynch, CEO, Construction Youth Trust
