The Construction Employability Award application checklist
Here’s a list of everything you’ll need to have ready. The application will not auto-save as you go, so make sure you have everything to hand as you’ll need to complete the application in one go.
Applications for the award must come from UK-based non-government training organisations.
The award criteria are:
- £25,000 to be awarded to a (private – non-government) training organisation or company involved in accredited training, who makes a significant difference to the Construction Industry.
- This can be in any area of the UK or Northern Ireland.
- Project/initiative to operate for a minimum of 12 months and support a minimum of 15 individuals, with the encouragement of minority groups.
- Qualifications must include recognised construction industry accreditations.
- Training must lead to employment within the construction industry and be offered free of charge to participants. Individuals not in employment, education or training to be targeted.
- The organisation needs to provide a mechanism to employers within the industry, supporting individuals to secure employment. You’ll need to provide names of employers you partner with.
- Recipients of the award must have an ongoing relationship with the Trust for 24 months, providing regular updates on the project/initiative with progression of the learners. Following placement into employment (through the organisations strong networks) tracking would be required for at least a further 12 months to prove updates on outcomes.
We’ll ask you to tell us:
- How many individuals the project will support
- If your organisation is a UK non-government business
- If the training is accredited, and if so, by who?
- In 100 words how your organisation has or will make a significant difference to the construction industry
- That the project is linked to an employer or placement
- Names of employer partners
- If the training project is linked to an employer or placement
- That you can commit to the following: Recipients of the award must have an ongoing relationship with the Trust for 24 months, providing regular updates on the project/initiative with progression of the learners. You’ll need to provide
- Your organisation’s details (name, address, website, and the charity or company number (if you have one)).
- Your details. Your name, email address and phone number, your job title, and how you heard about the award.
- Objectives. Firstly, tell us about the aims and objectives of your organisation. Next, tell us about the project you’re applying for The Construction Employability Award for – how will the grant be used and what are the expected outcomes?
- Breakdown of activities. Tell us each of the activities the award will be used, for example:

- Impact and opportunity
How will you measure and evaluate success of the project?
What publicity opportunities will your project generate for the B&CE Charitable Trust?
- Budget. Provide budget details for each resource relating to the grant, including resource, cost per unit or person, number of units and total cost, for example:

Next, tell us if the project will receive funding from any other organisation including your own.
