The WOW Show’s Executive Producer, Bill Hayward, talks to us about his organisation and the benefits of receiving a grant for education and training from the Charitable Trust.
Please tell us about The WOW Show
The WOW Show is a live online channel that creates real-life encounters with the world of work to inspire young people about their futures. We create engaging encounters with young inspirational people who give us an authentic view of what the world of work really means.
We film around the country with some of Britain’s biggest and best employers exploding myths, finding out the facts and meeting trainees, apprentices and graduates to discover what the world of work is really like.
How will the funding you’ve received from B&CE’s Charitable Trust help your organisation support employment in construction?
We’re immensely proud that B&CE’s Charitable Trust are a Foundation Sponsor of The WOW Show.
The funding we’ve received from the Charitable Trust has enabled us to shine a spotlight on the diversity of today’s construction industry and present the variety of fascinating and fulfilling lifelong careers that the industry has to offer to thousands of young people.
It has enabled us to develop and extend our reach to schools across the country and demonstrate to teachers and careers leads why the construction industry is such a dynamic career choice and opportunity for their students – an opportunity underlined by the fact that between now and 2022 the construction industry requires 150,000 new workers (CITB Construction Skills Network Forecasts 2018-2022).

It has been a real pleasure to have partnered with B&CE and to have worked with such a committed team.
Your support from the early days helped us turn The WOW Show from an ambition into a reality. We are now able to connect with more than 1,600 schools nationwide – inspiring young people about their futures across a range of careers and helping the schools deliver on the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Together, we are transforming the way careers guidance and employers’ recruitment needs can be delivered in the classroom.
