The Construction Employability Award

Are you part of an organisation running a project to deliver great training which results in employability within construction?

About The Construction Employability Award

The Construction Employability Award is an annual £25,000 grant given to organisations that can demonstrate they will make a significant difference towards training and employability within construction.

This grant helps organisations enable new talent in construction. The initiatives these organisations provide include trade-specific training, apprenticeships, and access to skills development. The grant also assists those who offer support around mental wellbeing and personal disadvantages in the workplace.

Over the course of the last decade, we’ve helped multiple businesses who’ve demonstrated their commitment to improving employability in construction.

Applications

Applications open on 15 September 2025 and close on 10 October 2025.

Previous award winners

Here are some of the previous recipients of the award and how it’s helped improve access to employment in construction.

CarringtonLIME – 2024/25 winner

CarringtonLIME, a Community Interest Company based in Mitcheldean, runs heritage construction and skills training, predominantly in lime plastering. The award will enable the company to expand their fully funded national Heritage Plastering programme.

The company is currently the only heritage training provider in the UK offering a full career path into the ancient art of lime plastering. With over 300 students trained annually—ranging from tradespeople to architects and surveyors—the programme equips students with a deep understanding of heritage construction. Participants gain practical skills in creating high-quality lime plaster mixes, understanding site operations, and ultimately gaining the confidence to secure work in the field. Read our press release to find out how they’ll use our award.
